A Fantastic First Year at Run Reigate 2025

We had a hugely successful first year at Run Reigate on Sunday 21st September, thanks to our incredible team of 25 runners, from intrepid first timers to seasoned racers setting personal bests. Together, through individual fundraising efforts and on-the-day donations, we raised over £9,600.

After a worrying weather forecast and our first I Choose Freedom gazebo lost to the wind, the morning of race day brought bright and not too breezy running weather, a last minute gazebo replacement from the heroes at Simply Sports Reigate and our team of early-rising volunteers.

The atmosphere throughout the day was electric, filled with positivity, encouragement and a real sense of community. Our runners and volunteers in a sea of purple t-shirts helped raise vital awareness of the lifesaving work we do every day providing safe refuge to families fleeing domestic abuse. Seeing so many I Choose Freedom supporters visibly standing in solidarity with our survivors made it a really special day.

At the event village, families joined in with face painting and glitter adding colour and helping raise additional donations. Thankyou to everyone who stopped to chat and learn more about our work.

We’re deeply grateful to Farsound for their generous sponsorship, which meant every single penny raised from the day will go directly to supporting survivors to rebuild their lives free from abuse. Thanks too to local business, Just, who kindly donated their car park for the day.

A huge thank you goes to our amazing runners for their enthusiasm, determination and team spirit. Whether taking on their first 5K or pushing through the half marathon, every one played a vital role in helping us reach our goal. We also couldn't have done it without our supporters and volunteers both on the day and behind the scenes, whether making our bunting, directing drivers or painting faces. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success.
